Our work

The work of the Strategic Change Service is wide-ranging and touches on every part of the University. Our portfolio includes four categories of work, ranging from large-scale change programmes to continuous improvement work.

Strategic initiatives

Strategic initiatives are large programmes of significant change that will impact staff in more than one budget area and take more than six months to deliver. These programmes are directly aligned to the University’s strategic objectives and are funded by specific investment approved through the planning round.

Improvements projects

Improvement projects are smaller pieces of work, focusing on a particular area of the University, with the approval of their budget holder.

Responsive projects

Responsive projects are stood up in response to external threat, high levels of risk, or a time sensitive opportunity. These can impact one or more areas of the University.

Continuous improvement

Continuous improvement work makes gradual improvements to processes, systems or services. The projects are run by local areas of the University and Strategic Change colleagues provide guidance and coaching.
