Catherine is Vice-Principal, Corporate Services.

She has overall management of Corporate Services Group, comprising a wide range of professional, operational, commercial, and commercialisation services provided by almost 3,000 staff. 

She holds an MA in English Literature & French and a PhD in French Literature & Language. After teaching French at the University of St Andrews, she trained as a chartered accountant, working in audit and corporate finance for global accountancy firms, Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and Mazars LLP.

Catherine joined the University of Glasgow in 2010 as College Secretary in the College of Arts, from which position she moved to the University of Edinburgh in 2015. Catherine is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and was until recently a member of the Arts & Humanities Research Council audit committee.

Having held a variety of other non-executive director and trustee roles, she is currently on the board of Edinburgh Innovations Ltd and is a member of the Scotland Advisory Group for Parkinson's UK.
